neilskiw, I guess the vacuum diagram can be different depending on the year. Could you tell us which year and model do you have? Is it original or modified?

I'm putting a late 70's super six set up on my '64 Valiant.

I guess I was looking to see how Ma Mopar routed all the carb and air cleaner vacuum hoses and stuff.

Which stuff should I keep, cap, or chuck?

Thanks for the response.

Ok, I do not have a supersix.

However, found this article from a forum member (Reed):

http://www.slantsix.org/articles/supersix/article.htm

And below the section "Doing the research" there is an schematic for the BBD 2 barrel of the supersix (do you have a BBD or a Holley?)

If you have a BBD, the schematic show the vacuum connections. In a 64 Valiant you should only care for distributor vacuum (I guess). Don't know if you even have PCV valve (if so, connect it too!). I will say plug everything else except the bowl vent fitting (Canister plurge, EGR, heated air (your passenger's heater should get hot water all the time), PCV (if not equipped)). The Holley should have similar vacuum sources.

About the air filter, I think that some of the vacuum connectors are related with the lean burn or the dual air intake (hot air from the headers area when cold). Not sure if you have that system. I suggest just plug every vacuum connection in the air filter, get sure that the main air intake is open. You might use rubber caps, to test.

I hope that somebody else that actually has a supersic can ring a bell to confirm this.

Good luck.

neilskiw, have not heard any news from you. In the meantime, I found this just looking for "super six vacuum diagram" in Google:

http://www.moparstyle.com/forums/showth ... ders/page2

That might help.

Now, if you have no fuel canister (gas tank and carb emissions, your 64 Valiant gas tank does not have a gasoline vapor purge for it), and you''re not using the EGR (recirculation reduces NOx, but also performance, and your 64 Valiant was not equipped with it), you can plug those vacuum sources in the carb. Do not plug the bowl vent, of course. If you're using the super six headers, you can flip the EGR valve for it to remain closed (see discussion in link; also you can use a blind flange).

If you're using the super six air cleaner, you have one line to connect, see post #23 (I guess all other stuff in the air cleaner in post # 22 is already inside the air cleaner).

You still has to connect PCV (if equipped), distributor and the proper source for the choke diaphragm.
