I all of the sudden cannot start my Dart. When I open the door the dome light turns on, battery has a full charge. When I turn the key literally nothing happens except the oil light turns on (it always does when you start this car). I do not hear the starter or anything from the ignition system. I am guessing bad ignition switch? If people agree with me, any ideas on how to get the ignition assy. out of the dash?

Thanks!

Ignition switch, starter relay, neutral safety switch, starter, wiring among these components, or battery/cable(s). The battery/cable test is easy: turn on the headlamps and watch them while you turn the key. Do they dim way down? If so, the problem is probably one or more faulty battery cables and/or severe corrosion of the battery cable terminals.

If that's not it, diagnosis is here (I still have that one-and-only-one new '60-'64 neutral safety switch if you turn out to need it).

Okay it was the terminal, thanks. Kind of kicking myself in the butt for how simple and standard the problem was.

Let's hear it for easy fixes. BUT, it's going to happen again. Those "two bolts and a strap across the top" battery cable terminals are meant as a short-term, get-by, emergency fix until a real repair can be made.
