going to use these K1 cast crank rods that I purchased from Campbell Enterprises back in December of 2011 in a '87 cast crank motor build for the '68 Barracuda.

here is a .org post that records the lock slot issue

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... crank+rods

this past week, just for the fun of it, I contacted Campbell Enterprises and spoke to 'Marshall' on the lock slot size and location issue. Marshall at Campbell said they would get back to me, they never did. I called their order number and left a request for follow up on the six year old lock slot problem,, no reply. I called the same number and left a message, saying that I needed to speak to someone concerning a new order,, bingo, got a return call right away,,from Marshall,,

Got a major run around, Marshall said I needed to contact K1,, which was strange as I purchased the rods through Campbell,,

Moved forward and contacted K1, spoke to a rep there named Vic, Vic said that normally these kind of issues need to go through the chain that the parts were bough through,, I need to go through Campbell, Campbell would contact K1 for resolution,,, I agreed, and I spoke of the previous contact to Campbell Enterprises however Campbell Enterprises was of no help,, Vic implied that Campbell Enterprises is pretty weak on customer service but K1 would step up, If I sent him an estimate for the repair, steps would be taken to make the parts usable.

that is all I needed to hear,
my take on this is:
Campbell Enterprises is really weak on customer service and support after the sale, I will not buy from them in the future nor would I recommend them as a supplier.
K1 came across as a super supplier, willing to step up and honor the seller / buyer commitment. I would buy their product.

two thumbs up to K1
two thumbs down to Campbell Enterprises

concerning the rods,, a little time with a dremel and then parts were fine,,

and these rods are certainly an early set
rod serial numbers are
0002
0022
0035
0055
0057
0063

John,

Sounds like a good solution. I had mine at the machine shop when we discovered the problem, so rather than drive 50 mi each way to fix them myself, I had the fix em. They have been serving in the 64 Dart engine since about 2012-2013.

I assume this is for the new Barracuda motor?

Happy building!

Lou
