Find a post the person's made - at the bottom left corner of it, there's a Profile button followed by a PM button directly to the right. When you do that it will quote the post in the pm, or you can delete it if you choose.

Another way - directly under the "Click here to make a Christmas gift to the forum...." at the very left, there's a Notifications link followed by a "Private message" link. If you click that it will take you to a blank pm page. At the top left of the page you can add the user name of whom you want to send the message, or click the find user link below. If your unsure how to spell the exact username, you can use the find section with * as a wildcard - ex, if you type pie* you'll find my userid as it begins with piesomethingsomething
