anyone have a manual from an 85 truck engine compartment wiring "with" a slant and Lean Burn, and the 2-pickup style distributor that they could scan and send me???
or an online link to same?
also would like same schematic for same truck with 4 pin ECU if possible.

Don,
If it helps I have a FSM for my 83 D150 it had the single pick up fixed distributor.
I can take a photo of the diagram and send it to your phone or email.
PM me if you want that.
And, the 4 pin ecu question, are you looking for a diagram for a HEI install?

I had thought they changed connectors and such between 83 and 85. I have an 83 factory shop manual somewhere.
This thing is nothing short of a mess. To begin with the hot lead from the alternator changes colors 3 times in just over a foot. Twisted and taped together, not even a crimp fitting to hold anything together, the truck side of the start pick up at the distributor has been chopped, with bullet connectors crudely crimped. Those same wires at the distributor housing are all spliced and you should see the tape job. None of the wire colors at the coil look like they should, same story with the alternator field wires, the plug that would plug into the carb idle speed solenoid are burnt away, that's where I stopped after discovering"no spark".
Right now I just want to hear it run, before I put too much into it. Was hoping to do that with the lean burn in place and then retrofit something else at that point. I have a mess to clean up, guess it is as good of time as any to put a better ignition onto it.

Oh thought I'd better say that the solenoid mentioned is just an idle speed deal/ NOT a feedback mixture control.

Just trying to "establish a baseline" (for lack of a way to put it) before I start modifying anything....

wow oh, wow….. I have to say it has been a LONG time since I have seen such a bad cobble job of what was a factory wiring harness (at one time) on one vehicle..... nice Sunday afternoon, I just finally dug into this thing with both feet...…

I wound up buying the Bishko CD's for both 84 and 85 (84 because that's the year of the truck, that my "new" wiring harness came from and I needed to know things like if the bulkhead was the same pin for pin, as I wasn't planning on changing the under dash side of the harness)
and the CDs were 1/2 the current going rate, of a well used paper copy of each
I do notice that to me though they basically tell the same story, the 84 wiring diagrams do seem easier for me to follow now that I have seen em both...
