Well, it only took a pandemic to finally get me some shop time. It's been well over a year since I have been able to update this. Lots of family dramas have come and gone, I am going to make some progress while things are relatively quiet.
So, I finally have the car on 4 wheels.....

I don't think those are the four wheels that you really want but Pandemic progress is progress... Get to it.

I pulled the front fenders off and stripped all the remaining items from the engine compartment in prep for paint. The engine compartment is in much better shape than I thought. Just needs primer and paint.
It seems that AMD has discontinued floor pans for the 65 Belvedere so I bought one of the last ones they had. The current floor is a bunch of metal patches (some very poorly installed). I figured I may as well install it now and be done with it. I cut the old floor out, just need to trim up the edges and set the new floor into place. Maybe now, the carpet will finally lay flat.

I like it without floors.

Time to fab up some tube frame connectors, supports and then put in an aluminum floor.. fast n' light!

I would have considered an aluminum floor but I already have the AMD floor. I will be adding frame connectors. I haven't decided on tube or square stock for those, I have both on hand.

Sell that AMD piece at a markup since they aren't made any more! It's a racecar.

I have the front floor pan test fitted and just about ready to weld in. I can't seem to get the holes to align for the seat brackets and the outside seat belt mounts. I may just have to get them as close as possible and redrill if needed. I need to level the chassis on the jack stands before I start welding. I noticed that the passenger side isn't sitting completely on the jack stand. This is due to the right side leaf spring being stiffer than the left. I just need to drop the axle off the stands so the chassis is resting firmly on the jack stands.
