Driving the D150 /6 automatic lean burn on the freeway, smoke came out of the radio and the engine quit at speed. Got towed to a parts store. Social distancing means riding in my truck on the ramp truck. Interesting ride!
All my fuses are good, but radio, lighter dont work and there is no spark. Coil tested bad, replaced it, but still no spark. Is there a fusible link for the lean burn system? I’m stuck on my way to Seattle.

Thanks. Theres power to coil positive. I had to take it to a shop. He's saying the Lean Burn unit is bad. CA laws wont allow him to install anything but another LB unit. Wont even let me test or repair on his property. ugh.

You didn't mention the year of your truck, but if it's the early 80's ecm mounted on the air cleaner, here's a cheap NOS one on ebay. Not sure when they started mounting the revised version somewhere else.

You may still have wiring troubles with a fusible link or such. Getting power to the coil via the ignition switch is a good thing. I can't swear that the linked part. no. is the same that used to reside in my '82 D150. I can't find my old lean burn ecm. I think that this one checked out to a slant application, but that was from my old memory. I went to an HEI conversion a year or two ago. When I was considering staying with another NOS lean burn ecm, the one from this seller was cheaper by hundreds than others I found. Never dealt with this seller.

Check to see if there is voltage at the coil + terminal with the ignition key in the crank and run position.
If no voltage there is a blown fusible link. If you are stranded, run a hot wire from the battery to the coil + and when cranked the engine should start.
If there is power at the coil + and the engine still does not have spark to start and you suspect the lean burn, the best thing to do is a swap to a hei ignition. There are many articles here and across the internet, post questions if needed.

I’ve pieced together a stock EI. Engine starts now and runs ok despite no vacuum advance. Headed north out of the frying pan for the cool mountains. Thanks everyone for the advice & tips. Onward & upward!
