Are there any carburettor experts out there who could post a picture of a BBD 4300S carb, in particular the linkage, as it should be?

My 1969 /6 Barracuda had a 4300S carb when I bought it forty years ago which had been converted to manual choke operation, presumably by a previous owner in South Africa, and I'm curious to see exactly what parts were replaced. (I don't know if the car came ORIGINALLY with this carb!)

The pictures of BBD carbs in the Plymouth manual are of no help because my carb is different in various respects, in particular, mine only has one idling screw, not two like the ones on carbs for American engines.

Thanks in advance.

second from bottom is your tag number ,export bbd for slant six , no choke parts listed. So you have 2 idle mixture screws and one hot curb idle speed screw and no choke on fast idle speed screw?

Old ad I posted years ago with many pics of a new-in-box 4301s (same as 4300s except minor calibration details for automatic vs manual transmission) is here. These carbs came with an integral choke and were used with a hot-air tube arrangement described and depicted here (except the carburetor end of the heat tube connected to the choke housing at the top of the BBD carburetor, not to the throttle body at the base of the Holley 1920 or Carter BBS with that anti-ice system).

Very likely you can put together a working automatic choke without need of a heat tube if you'll read up on the electric choke kits and get a kit № CU1113 or CU1114 depending on which direction you need the spring to push (or if the one you get tries to push the wrong way, you can free the bimetal spring from its central anchor, flip it over and reinstall it).

Thank you very much for your replies with useful info and especially the link to a picture of a brand new 4301S carb, which I've never seen before.

(Exactly as in the picture, I have only one idle speed screw. On my carb, the choke housing is empty and my choke cable is mounted to a bracket bolted to the upper carb flange.)

I am now a wiser man. Cheers, guys!
