New tinted windshield is in. So much nicer being able to see out now.

Bright side is when Mike put the lexan in he used the factory gasket and molding. Guy had the new one in in less than an hour.

Mike sure does nice work... unlike someone else I know with a '68 Valiant racecar... crapcar.

Have fun with it.

Well, this is perplexing. Fired up the Valiant today aaaaaanndd, it broke sitting over the winter. Pushed the starter button and instantly could tell it's missing a couple holes. I guess it's finally time to change motors.

Not sure what happened but I found a freeze plug on the floor under the car.

In the meantime, got the motor and trans out of the Daytona today. Motor is my Slantzilla motor out of the red car. I am hoping it is good for another 40 horse over the old one. Going to try to get it in next weekend.

Glass is so good, sure it is a little heavier, but as you said, it's so much better to see out.
If you take good care of Lexan it stays clear for a long time, but it's work to do so.

The glass guy had put the old lexan in the back seat area and we pulled it out today. Mike used 1/4" lexan, it wasn't real light anyway.

This stuff was well over 20 years old. It was probably past it's service life.

Pulled the head off the Valiant motor today aaaaaannnnddddd..................nothing is broke. Apparently it stuck a valve and tossed out a pushrod. Pushfod isn't even bent.

I'll get the motors switched next weekend, then get the head for the old motor to the machine shop and get the valves touched up. Then I will have a spare bullet.

Got the old motor out and the new/old motor set in the car. My cousin Chad came over and brought his boy Taylor with. Both were great help. Got a couple odds and ends to do then I can finish buttoning it up.

Weather was crap today but I got a little done. I had to drill and tap a hole in the block for the water line from the remote pump. Got the bellhousing bolts in and made sure the converter was still free.

Hopefully the weather will be a little nicer next weekend and we can fire it.

Sounds great, Dennis. Every little bit counts, and I'm looking foward to hearing how it runs...
