This indicates there's a nut loose behind the wheel.

well seeing as you're in arcadia and not arcata, that eliminates one cause of white smoke that smells bad. maybe more info on your problem would help

guy, we are doing what we can but there are only so many of us and you are being a little vague. not to mention you have posted a lot in a short time. it gets on some people's nerves.

there are a lot of things to sort out on your slant. it is going to take some time. so you have to be patient, and handle the problems one at a time and give us a chance to help you, it isnt all going to get solved tomorrow.

yes cold weather is one possible reason for the white smoke. there are a few other causes but I think you should find a good mechanic in your area and work with him on the problem. It might not even be a problem. those cars did not have cat converters and the exhaust does stink lots more than newer cars.

again this is an online community with all kinds of different ppl on it and some do not like it when a new guy comes in and asks all kinds of questions all at once. we have a big archive of old messages you could read for answers to your questions and you may learn things you hadnt thought of yet. if you slow down and give us some space I think the razzing will stop. good luck. :)

I don't have a problem with the questions. I'd guess rings, but yes, that's usually a bluish white smoke, but a big cloud of it often appears white. Raw gas out the back can appear white, too, and burns the eyes.

neutral<---------correct spelling for "neutral"... Try enough different ways, and you'll get it! ;) Hang in there, doode!

no one HATES you. We dont know you well enough. just be patient please and we will do what we can. OK?

I think the number one thing you have to focus on is your running problem. If you start putting wires, exhaust, chrome parts and stuff on the car before you fix the engine you are just going to make it a nightmare to figure out. Hey maybe the magnecor wires are broken from the factory. Maybe someone put the muffler on backwards. Who knows because you bolted it on all at once.

That can all wait for now. What did your carb guy say about the running/cold start/smoke problem? Since they did your carb they should be offering you some help with that because they could have set it up wrong. You should talk to them tomorrow.

Sham, I know arcadia isn't cold, I grew up 20 miles from there. You sure its not just condensation? any black soot coming from the tailpipe?

well northern california is on the same latitude as the southern tip of Ontario and Ive never been to cali so hey, who knows. It's probably a fueling problem. Maybe valves too.
