I need to replace my windshield. I tracked down atake-it-off-yourself salvage yard that has Plymouths nearby. Can I use a windshield from any 4-door Plymouth between '63-'65???
If so, what tools do I need and how do I take the windshield off the junker without damaging glass???

Windshield you need is NAGS number DW647. Interchange is '64-'65 Dodge Polara/Coronet and '64-'65 Plymouth Belvedere, Satellite, Fury and Sport Fury (including '64 convertible) only. '63 and earlier or '66 and later cars won't provide a windshield that'll work for you.

Wait for a nice, hot day so the rubber gasket is as soft as possible. Bring along at least one helper; two are better. Cut the outside of the windshield gasket—really slice away at it in several passes so as to remove as much of the gasket as possible. Push the front seat back as far as possible and sit in the middle of it. While your helpers place their hands on the windshield from the outside, ready to ease it forward, place your feet on the inside of the windshield and apply even, steady forward pressure with your feet, spaced as widely apart as you can.

Have you checked your local glass supplier? They still can get new windshields for most cars from the sixties and they are relatively cheap. I recently had one replaced in my '73 truck and they came to my house to install it. Total cost...$180. A new glass for my '64 Valiant is $10 more.

No (Think about it, can you recall any '64 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible 4-doors...?). 2-door, 4-door, wagon.
