Will there be any clearence issues with useing a slant oil pan from a 79' Volare in a 68' Dart that has been upgraded with 73' up A-body K-frame and suspension parts? Building up a spare motor and need to know befor it is all buttoned up. I want it to be a total drop-in with only accessories needing to be added.

Thanks-Dart68

Oof...three different-year cars involved, best answer I can give is that it'll probably all clear, but you'll have to measure the pan relative to the engine mounts and K-frame members to rule out any big/obvious interference, then say a little prayer to the Slant-6 God as you drop the engine in.

Unless they changed the pan specifically in 1979 it should drop right in...

According to the 1976 Mopar Parts Manual ALL 225's got the same pan Part number 4006368 (Fury/ Coronet/Charger same as A body and F body too....)

I don't have a 1979 manual yet, the 1978 manual says ALL makes with 225's still get 4006368 for an oil pan, so I would reasonably suspect that with mopar getting 'cheap' about parts in the late 70's the pan remained the same until the F body run ended...you can go to a Dodge dealer parts desk and ask if they still have their 'books' (all the dealers in my state still do... get the 1979 book, go to section 10 "Engine Oiling" probably will have the late system so Page 10-500...on the early books (pre-77 you'll need part sub section 10-24-4).

good luck, 8)
