Have any of you replaced your roof rail seals and got your door glass to seal properly? Aaron and I have been unsuccessfully fighting the windows on his '74 Dart Sport. It seems like no matter what we do, there is no solution. I kept the old seals to have something to compare to, and the replacements have a few differences in design, especially up in the top corners that form the 90 deg. angles with the quarter windows.

If yours fit well and seal off wind and water properly, let me know which brand you installed.

I'm watching this thread closely. I've been having the same problem for sometime with my Duster. It seals perfect everywhere except for the back of the window where it leaves a pretty big gap where the window curves outward. sounds like I'm riding in an airplane going down the road. Have you tried adjusting the window glass.

Could worn door hinges have something to do with this?

I'm with you on this one.

I've tried time and again to adjust the glass. It just seems like there is not enough bulk to fill the window opening. Moving the glass backwards towards the quarter window creates a gap at the A-pillar. However, the 90 deg. corner up in the top bulges out and doesn't seem to allow the glass to lie against the rest of the vertical part of the seal. I'll keep at it a while longer. I was just wondering if anyone had success with a different seal manufacturer. I am using some made by Precision Replacement Parts and purchased from Hardens Muscle Car World.

I have also had this problem with my '72 Valiant. It drives me nuts!!! I get tons of road noise from this problem and then my speedo is also chirping!!! It sucks. I will keep an eye out on this thread as well.
One solution would be to just "crank the tunes".....J/K.

Do your Dart Sport/Duster windows seal properly?
HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

You're kidding, right?

I thought Dusters and Swingers all whistled and leaked from the factory!

...sorry, this is of no help, but at least maybe you will feel better knowing it is normal. You can adjust the windows (height and tilt) every which way from Friday, but if you seal it good in one place, it'll just leak in another... Good luck to you!
