I am trying to remove the light switch from my 66 Barracuda dash. The wiper switch came out easily, there is a set screw on the knob, but I don't see how to remove the knob to get the switch out. What am I missing?

If it is like the one on my '74 Dart, the knob and its stem come out as a single unit. The body of the switch has a little metal button you press and it releases the stem to slide out.

Yep. Al old opar headlight switches have the button on the body of the light switch. Depress the button with the knob puched in, hold th ebutton down, and pull the knob out. Then get a really fat flat head screwdriver and undo the screw. If you hae one of the later models with the notches around the perimeter of the screw then I recommend a small flat head screw driver or punch and a small hammer.

a set of circlip pliers work great on those chrome nuts. those headlight switches are pretty much the sameup thru the 90s. i replaced a bad one on a friend's dakota pickup and it looked identical to the one in my swinger.
