Rob, come on over, it's not like your going to get straight A's anyway.
Pops is not coming.
And Jr is selling parts.
I offered him back his old engine, but I don't think he wants it back.
Right now Ryan is on the fence, Shawn and I are committed. (If it ever quits raining in MO)

Pops, no improvement in the front end.
The lower ball joints are at the endo of their travel so that won't get fixed.
Just going to send it.

That is a plenty big cam to do some damage! My cam is in that same neighborhood and is installed at 99 or 100. Your intake centerline on the card is 104, so 100 or close to it should be a good place to be. :D Stan, just wondering if you happened to do a compression test with that cam? I had a lot less compression than I thought when I checked mine, and I am at 11.5 to 1.

The Colt sure sounds good. Good job.

Somebody needs to be studying instead of causing trouble.

“The Colt” is a much better car than the Lancer so should not be too hard to outrun it.

I have tried to help “The Colt” as much as I can. Sold “The Colt” owner parts cheap and how to add another 25-30 horsepower without much work.

All I can think of is “ You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”

Jr.

I like those cam specs too, but only with 11.5:1 or higher compression. I think you have 10.5:1, right? If so, you can run that on 87 octane I bet. 12:1 would be about right, or even higher.

That Cam is bigger than what is in Ruster from 2009-2024.

More compression is needed ... possibly up to ~13.5:1

The intake center line on the card says 104° but then there is a 2.0° Advanced indication on that cam card as well. Does that mean that it should be installed at 102° ICL?

Good luck with it.
In a car that small and light it should be into the 7.30's / 11.50's once sorted.

You need to get laps on it.

It was going to have more compression, but the head had a water leak so I put the good head I had back on it.
If you read the card it says I104 and E108, with a spread of 106, so I went with that number, 106.
I installed the ST-21 I had before so many times I wanted to put velcro on the timing chain cover.
I sure hope Mark at Aussiespeed makes our slant aluminum chain cover in two parts like I asked him to.
I never was happy with how it performed.
I put this STX-21 in dot to dot.
Yes I checked it and with my measurement scatter, it seemed to match the card.
If it needs more compression, it should pick up even more after I get new rocker stands made for the Droll head.

So lost out here in the slant wilderness, I can only tell you what is working for me.

The I 104° is the Intake Lobe ℄
I interpret the E 108° to be the Exhaust Lobe ℄which does not make much sense to me.
The Spread # is likely the Lobe Separation Angle.

Someone please chime in here if I am misunderstanding these things.

I always install off the Intake Centerline. If it is 104,I would install at @ 100.

Are you laughing because it will run more MPH or because you used the word retarded?

Deb and I went to Houston on Wed/Thursday to see Carlos Santana for her Birthday.
Carlos got sick the night before and tested positive for Covid.
So they cancelled the Houston Concert a couple hours before the show.
Then we rode 4 hours home on Thursday in driving rain.
Friday my son called me and his honda was broken.
We spent all day Saturday replacing the O2 sensor and changing the rear struts.
The O2 sensor looked to be damaged by the cat coming apart.
One of the rear struts had fused the 17 MM bolt to the lower bushing and would not move.
3 hours of using a small cutoff wheel on the nut, bot head and finally the bushing.
I ended prying the shear bracket open and driving what was left out with a large hammer.
Good thing I had an empty bay because the Colt was in the trailer ready to go.
So that was how I spent my "Race" day.
