There are a few things to try at the track. One is getting more fuel thru the primary power valve. I have a 4.5 alcohol PV in right now and it doesn't bring the A/F down low enough until around 4800 rpm. Peak HP and TQ was at 13.5 A/F at 4600 rpm. He figured we can squeeze another 30 tq with a good A/F ratio. The boost ref signal is to slow on the BG. #24 bleeds in the front and #27 in rear also. This help alot but still need to drill the metering block. Also, I need to try the 2.94 gears since my MPH is 118 @ 5500 and the power drops after pretty good after 5200. Made 10 pulls last night. He couldn't believe how much fuel this slant needs to make HP. I still have the 14 gph meth jet installed.

Man, I'm still smiling! My 11.08 run was against a 73 Dart with a BigBlock, tunnel rammed, dual quad motor plate, big tire beast. Beat him by a tenth. He ran 11.17. It was awesome to embarass a few cars. To bad The dart wasn't a chevy! Yes, 2.94 gears worked well. Got alittle air on the last run. Left at 3800 rpm with 23 psi boost.

Dang, that is great work. Congrats! I guess Seymour was there to see it all too. Hope you two had a nice time together, and can't wait to meet up in August in Kearney.

I am just starting on my turbo project in earnest on my street car. Next year I'll get to tuning on that after winter assembly.

Cheers,

Lou

Lou, Seymour mentioned your project. Good luck my friend. Seymour ran twice, then had a fuel bowl issue. Got that fixed and Off he went home. A super guy who can pack alot of stuff in that little Valiant. I'm gunna try to get over to Grove Creek this year, maybe we'll meet up again with a few others as well. Very nice looking and running Valiant he has also.

Ryan,

Yeah, my '68 Dart (to be turbo'ed) is in Mpls under the care of my bro and another good friend. Having a 304 SS turbo exh man made by a fab shop up there. Will be fun to play with... If you go to Grove with Seymour, my bro and buddy could maybe join you too with my Dart.

See you in August.

Lou

I wish I could have went with Seymour. He stopped by the body shop on Saturday on his way out to see you. Send me a PM when you go to Grove. My brother went last Saturday for the test N tune. He said their were alot of cars running and the track was very consistent.

Great job on your Valiant!!!

Congratulations on your 11.03 time, apparently you made at least two more runs after I left. Did you do anything different to knock off that last 10th? I really enjoyed meeting you, your dad. and your daughter. That is really an excellent facility there, I love the curved and banked shut off area! Also running water and electricity in the permanent pit spaces, a class track.

Ryan's car is really something, very well designed and very consistent. It looks like it would be tricky to make consitent runs but all his runs were very close. I think Ryan's car could be the fastest slant six at Kearney. When he builds boost on the line the car really stands up, straining against the brakes, then boom he's off in a swish, hardly makes any sound while he eats up the track. It comes off the line very hard as evidenced by those nice 60' times.

Also stopped at Chris' Restoration shop on the way to Oahe. He has a really nice shop and does excellent paint and body work. Don't miss the chance to meet Ryan, Chris, and many more interesting Slant personalities when we all get together at Kearney in August.
