You need another project Rob. I have a brown truck that would look good at your shop. |

Nah! I pawned it off on you for a reason. Besides, I still haven’t done anything with the Duster you pawned off on me. |

I scraped about a pound or so of undercoating and bondo out of the rear passenger door on ToadRacer. More to come... |

That's 75 lbs off the whole car. That is worth more than 0.1 sec in the 1/4 mile and probably a few tenths off lap times at most courses. Thanks, Rob!!! Lou |

I scraped 5 pounds of undercoating and bondo out of the front passenger door. That made me decide to go back and get the rest of the bondo off that rear passenger door. My OCD gets the better of me sometimes...

Jason is concerned about me messing up the patina of the car by doing this.... How can I match that chalky blue color...? Should I leave these spots to rust or shoot a little primer on them..? Jason’s car started as grey primer for the GRM Challenge and has progressed to a nice rusty patina’d finish over the years. First outings with ToadRacer we will likely leave it with the patina it has now. Not sure where the team will want to go as far as themes later on...

May the OCD be with you! Music to my "weight weenie" ears... I would shoot flat black primer on it, but if you want to let it rust that is fine. IOE votes will probably be higher for rust, or red/rust colored primer with rust coming through it? Need to distinguish from Jason's rusty ride... Lou |

On the inside this car has red primer in some areas and black paint in others. Black is soooo common though.... As I’ve been fiddling with these doors I have to keep reminding myself not to go overboard and take them all down to bare metal... I did take some steel wool to the window trim to take off the paint overspray... I just couldn’t help it! |

Adam got quite a bit done on the roll cage this weekend. I cut out some metal and scraped some undercoating...

Looking good. Whose car is #46? Weld that cage good and correctly. Lemons sourness checkers seem to be most picky about those bars.. Greg |

Clem Smith is on the side of the car (from Australia). It was one of several photos Jason sent me when he saw that I was planning to build a Toad. Adam is taking the cage fabrication very seriously and the boy can weld. He has been in regular contact with the main Lemons tech guy concerning the cage. The tubing is 1.75" DOM rather than 1.50" ERW that we could get away with. |

Nice job with the main hoop location. Looks like it lands right on top of the rear subframe crossmember; I wish we'd done ours that way. Ours landed just forward of that, down in the "bathtub" we had to build for the driver's seat. At our first race, Jay made us gusset the main hoop to the rocker panel since he didn't trust our fabrication work. |
