Yes and in pretty poor air too! I kind of set a 12.7-12.80 goal for this year and I may have set my goal to low. I think I better shoot for a 12.60 instead |

I think in nice, cool air you have a .5X in it Rick. |

May be Dennis! What do you think my chances of a nice cool day are in Knoxville in mid August?? |

I would say September or October will be more likely. Remember, when I started tuning on my junk it ran 13:9X. It's been 12:9X since then with no big changes. |

After having a nice trip to the Knoxville race 2 weeks ago I headed out to another T & T at Mason Dixon again. This time I decided to do a little adjusting since I never try to adjust stuff on race day. Weather was mid to upper 80's and humid. Did I tell you I hate summer!!! I figured I would run the car just as I had the last 2 times out. We had a pretty hard headwind all day and the car ran a 13.35 @ 98.9 off the trailer. I checked timing and took 2 degrees out (30) and I ran it again. An almost identical 13.26 but I picked up a mph. I have been seeing that I am a little lean at WOT (When I can remember to look at that gauge right in front of my face!), so I went one step down on the Weber air jets to try and get to about 12.5 A/F ratio. Very happy to say that the car went out and ran a 13.08 @ over 100 mph! So it picked up almost .3 in the 1/4!! I am not sure what that means for good air and no head wind, but I am excited to find out! I made 5 runs with 4 really good lights (for me) all .018-.046 and no red lights! The only hiccup was in the $1000 to win Gamblers race that I must not have had the RPM up enough and when I hit the throttle it stumbled terribly! |

I did forget to say that Austin went with us to the races again. This time his 65 Mustang had 4.10 gear and a 750 carburetor on it to try and beat the lowly slant 6. Again after 5 tries his best time was a 13.26 to my 13.08. |

If he wants a chance against you, tell him he'll need to put a slant in his Mustang. |

I'd say he needs to learn how to drive it. |
