?Im pretty sure mine's jetted lean.

Do you have a carb number I can use? Mine's a 1748 Autoline. Or so the NAPA guy says. It's the part number on the baseplate.

Carb number depends on whose carb you order. Try for a reputable brand ("Holley II" is Holley's in-house reman brand, and they do all brands of carbs, not just Holleys). Tomco is fairly reputable.

Application will get the job done: 1971 Dodge Dart, 198 CID (3.2 litre) engine, Carter 1bbl carb. In the US, the NAPA number would be 1213 in their reman carb line. It just so happens the Tomco number is...1213. Champion 14619, Holley II 64-1212.

The original carb number to give them to make sure you're getting the right reman is a Carter 4956s.

 Holley II? Tomco? Most of the stores in my area only list Autoline carbs.

Do you want a core Holley or a 1748 Carter BBS that runs well?

Sandy, whatever I can dial in and get working well at the moment is good enough. I still have my original engine sitting under bubblewrap waiting for a water pump, distributor and BBD carb. One of these days when I have all that stuff Ill be ditching this engine and I wont need the 1BBL setup anymore. This is still my spare engine I have going until the original's ready to go in. So Im taking the path of least resistance for now.

I have a nice 65 BBS that I will never use. It ran very well when replaced by a BBD. The trick is its a throttle rod version so you would need to swap the bottoms.

I have a pile of Holleys that I will never use. Do you want one to rebush/rebuild?

Its too late today but I can courier them/one out Monday.

Well, theyve let me down.

They never refused to actually get me a replacement carb, but they haven't moved on it, either. Any suggestions on how I can put their feet in the fire before I go looking for another carb? :?
