Quote: Then it sounds like we're in good shape, regardless, because I still have the four-prong resistor, and I just ordered another one with my plug wires for a spare. One reason for this post was to confirm that the four-terminal ECU would not pose a problem. If I understand what you have described, we plug everything up just like it was. The wire coming from the #3 terminal will just not have a place to go. Right??
Right. I don't think there is any dispute of that. I personally have 4-pin ECU's in all of my five pin/wired electronic ignition setups. How about the accell Super Stock street coil (or is that the one you're already talking about, the part # didn't ring a bell)? That's what I run on my Duster. It fits just like stock, it is yellow, however. I've also had great service from Mallory street type units, I think you can get these in black or chrome. Black should stay cooler. D/W |

Good, now we have that resistor thing behind us.... Putting everything in perspective, I have not been able to justify spending more than necessary for a coil, to not reap any significant benefit. The yellow ACCEL is the wrong color (not even close to the Viper Yellow of the inner fender it will be near), if chrome, it would be the only item under the hood with chrome (everything else is painted), and the price is high (relatively). Not being a high performance car, just your run-of-the-mill slant six, I think it will do just fine with the $11 black OE-style coil I just bought at Advance Auto (made by Standard). No wonder it has taken two years to get to this point. It only took me a week to decide what coil to use. Now, let's see.... which spark plugs..................... Jerry |

Installed the engine and tranny last weekend. We're on the downhill slide now. Lots of parts cleaning and figuring out what goes where. We typically have been cleaning every last nut and bolt that goes back on the car. When we took everything apart, roughly two years ago, we thought we labled things well enough to know how it goes back together. Right.... For two years, I have been uploading photos to a site called "Moparpages.com". From there I am able to post pics here so you guys can see what we have been up to. This past week, there seems to be a problem with that site. Must be contagious (reference "slantsix.com"). Anyone know where else I can upload photos for free? Then I can show you what we are doing.
