Usually I wind up using two Fel-Pro 60274 or NAPA/Victor G25456. This isn't the phenolic material, but it is higher quality composite material and has the needed metal inserts for the bolt holes. They can also be stacked if you need to get more height. I think the G25456 is the one I prefer (made out of two layers of a graphite-faced material).

Sorry guys, didn't see the replies before posting mine... Boy do I feel worthless among you guys... I am surrounded by geniuses :shock: I am lucky if I can tell a car from a TV. I don't see myself machining my own parts and knowing all that materials stuff (yet :wink: )

Juan, I checked the pictures of your spacer... My father used to be in the meat business and had some cutting boards for his employees custom made. The material looks very alike... could it be the same? If so, I know the right place to get it... the problem would be actually to make the part.

Naw, you're doing fine -- asking good questions and obviously working thoughtfully with limited resources (Got those factory manuals yet?). All of us had to start at the zero-point; none of us was born knowing this stuff (except maybe for Doctor Dodge).

I was brought home as a newborn baby in a Dart, but that doesn't count.

Thanks Dan, you are real inspiration. In my research from many, many sources, your name always comes up... :shock: , obviously Doctor Dodge's is always there too.

Believe it or not, I was also brought home as a newborn in a Dart, that yellow '69 GT I was telling you about... so, it confirms your statement that that doesn't count... too bad :? (but pretty cool though 8) )

I could not buy those manuals in eBay, my PayPal account is not working don't know why. But will get those soon... it's a must.

That and a little duct tape and you're good to go. Get the high temp stuff and you should be set. I'd even get a colored pen out for flair...

this proucts are manufactured at a small town near my home. The cmopany's called Nicieza y Taverna Hnos. They sell delrn, grilon, molibdene loaded grilon (for front end bushings) nylon, polyphropilene..,. etc. I should be able to get their web site and see if they're interested on this market and pass on the contact info, or maybe I just could organize a list of you guys needing what and as long as you pay for merchandice plus exact shipping I'd be happy to help. Ahoter thing really unexpensive (maybe 10 bux each) is bscuit motor mounts. Thel hold up fine and are very well produced. I even buy the materials down at a retailer storem let me illustrate the cost: a piece of 1/2" thick 18" long 5" width cost me like 8 to 10 american dollars. Not expesive at all. I drill the bore hole with a plain wood flat bit. They I mark down the sides using a perma-marker and I cut those either by hand or on a small dremel like thoat hack. Then I smooth out all debris (this thing melts when you use high revs) by deburring it with hand tools. I alwasys use an used gasket as pattern (they how best wht's necessary and what's just bullshit.)

Motor mounts...? H'mm. I would think that a material hard enough for a carb spacer is too hard for an engine mount insulator...

I copy and edited and the phrase ended up outta context. Original biscuit style rubber motor mounts are easy to find down here and costs 10 bux each.

anyways, delrin is a good substitute for bushings. I have my idler arm bushing lined in delrin, with inner steel sleeve. Works great GREAT.

Juan, I will install a carb spacer and I'd love to do it just like you. I checked locally for availability of Grilon, and they asked a lot of questions. I appears that Grilon comes in several different compositions and properties. Do you have the exact name or the type you used?
