You don't know the REAL me, then... I'm a real hateful bastard in real life!  :x I'm just trying to get along and not make a scene in public :!:
And it all started with those fateful words your kindergarten teacher wrote down on your report card "Dennis does not play well with others"

*sigh* another bright mind turned unabomber!

guy, we are doing what we can but there are only so many of us and you are being a little vague. not to mention you have posted a lot in a short time. it gets on some people's nerves.
More to the point, the boy is asking lazy questions. He obviously wants us all to do his homework for him. The answers to most of his questions so far are easily obtainable with a 30-second search of this site and/or Google.

I don't object to helping people or answering thoughtful questions -- just take a look at my post totals. What I mind is when people abuse my goodwill by refusing to help themselves. For that reason, I will no longer waste my time answering shamhC's lame questions, and I have blocked him from chatting with me on AIM.

Tell us how you really feel

Ive tried to be patient with this guy and so far so good but then again I dont have any chat engines. Hopefully everybody's reactions will help this guy take the reins and start applying what he learns. But yeah, there's not much tolerance for flaming here. I would take it to PMs and leave it at that...

I tried that. Dude didn't (or wouldn't) understand. Perhaps when spanked in public the message will get through his head.

Dont have much to go on here, but i'll give it a shot !

first figure out if its "smoke" or "steam"

Smoke will hang in the air a while before it disappears. Steam or water vapor will dissappear quickly.

Try this, with the car running, place your hand behind the tail pipe for a few seconds, if your hand gets wet, see if it feels slippery or greasy,, if so, touch you tounge to the wet spot on your hand,, If its "sweet" tasting,, thats antifreeze, and you probably have a blown head gasket. You could also look for oily looking stuff floating on top of the antifreeze in your radiator. (let the car cool down completely before taking the radiator cap off).

If your getting actual smoke out for the tailpipe, you may have big problems, like worn out rings, or valve guides. That means major engine work.

Good luck !

try not to taste too much of it, antifreeze is pretty toxic. I learned that lesson when I took some to a petting zoo.

Hey, my dog seemed to like it, never did figure out what killed him though... :(

True enough...my father-in-law eliminated two very large pesky dogs the neighbor used to let run. They would come to their doors and growl and jump against the glass. Now I'm a dog lover, so I felt bad. But somehow they both died from antifreeze poisoning. Funny how chicken livers soaked in the stuff can be so tasty. He just left in his yard and well.....

Sham, like you I'm totally excited to get all my stuff working. Also like you, I had to do quite a bit to get it working. So your run into problem A, and fire off a fast message. Run back out to the car. See problem B, fire another message. And on it goes. Just try to take a minute, formulate your thoughts and questions, and they'll be answered happily and well. People here, including Dan, will teach you a TON. Just be cool, maybe cut back on the caffeinated beverage of your choice, and enjoy your Dart. Maybe even do a little chanting before you post to calm the nerves and collect the thoughts?

Seriously, ask good questions, and keep the personal 2 liners out. It ruins it for everyone.

Be good!

MJ
