I guess my question to you would be if you are going to spend all the money for a fuel injection setup and turbo and all the other engine work why get cheap with the pistons? I guess the point I am getting at is if you are going to invest the rest of the money in a motor such as this get the forged pistons so it will stay together. It would be a shame to get this setup together than the first time you hit 15 psi boost it turns into scrap metal. The 904 is a lighter tranny that is more than capable of handling just about anything that can be done with a slant six and to answer your question about what to do to the tranny ...talk to a tranny rebuilder who works with mopar trannies. Tell them what you are building and get their advice. Brian |

Okay, the good news, I will most likely get a set of Diamond forged pistons 8.0;1 compression and be done with it. Bad news, I thought I had enough funds to get a car and start the basic stuff like tearing out the engine tranny, tearing down the engine and get it ready for building, maybe some body work and interior work (I found the perfect car). However lack of funds right now has really diminished the possibility of getting this car. So I am going to have to wait until October when my Harvest Check comes in from my orchard to look and start on a car. At least then I'll be able to find a really good starting point. Thanks guys, and I'll be sure to let you guys know when I pick up a car and start in on the project. Thanks again. Michael |
