If you got the carb from Summit, call them any way. They might exchange it on "customer good will". A friend had a bad carb, and didn't realize it. He had the carb about 2 months before he put it on. Then had a few other people work on the truck (lil red express). By the time he brought the truck to me, he had the carb for about 5 months. I called Summit and explained the situation, and they offered to replace the carb, even though it was "out of warrentee". You have nothing to loose, by trying. |

if summit or holley won't help you then you may as well disassemble it and look for whatever is causing the restriction. you may even see something from the outside blocking the idle slots at the throttle plate. perhaps they never got machined? at any rate, it sounds like some trash in there or just a screwed up carby. you could always go the dirtbag route and ebag it as-is. ![]() ![]() -james |
