Reed are these going to work in a B-body?
I'm not sure these pre-68's are going to do the job, they're about 3" tall...with a metal "box"...

????

P.S. I do have the oil pan, it's a front sump pan...hope that'll work.

DI- actually, I am going to have to pass on the B-body. I won't be buying the reedmobile back from Brett. I am looking for a slant six powered van, and I think I have found one here in Washington, so I actually don't need the oil pan and motor mounts either. I was going to try and swap a slant six into a Dodge van that currently has a 360, but instead I decided to sell the 360 van and just buy one with a slant six already installed. Thanks for checking though!

Thanks for the inquiry reed, good luck on the van.

Today I pulled the K-member out of the Feather hull...and it has quite a few cracked welds. I'm off to the jiffy wash to get it hosed down, then sandblast it, so I can jig it up weld, box and gusset the poor thing. I think now would be the time to add that oil pan protector too...

I have a couple of inner fender chunks to practice on for gusseting and reinforcing the shock and UCA mounts, before I start welding on the real deal....

I also have a full floor pan so I can pattern a set of connector bars for the Feather too... (sounds like I have a full week ahead...).

p.s. the weird part about parting down the truck is the block was well used, but the head looks relatively new/rebuilt... jeeez...(my wife's about to kill me for all the stuff in the garage!!!!)

Post subject:  Well now I own it...

Milestone for today is State of Oregon finally awarded me the title, so now I really do 'own' the car...LOL... about a month ago when I pursued the title (In Oregon, you put a lien against the car, then like tow companies after 30 days you can pull the title), in a weird twist of Fate the guy who sold Brett the car on eBay never transferred the title out of the original owner's name (DMV was not to happy with that wrecking yard), so I got a nice letter from a lawyer stating she'd sue my ass to the floor for damaging the previous owner's credit record (was registed to a kid who just graduated college and the Dad was none to happy...LOL)...
After letting the lawyer know my intent, offering to sign a letter that I just need to put the lien on to acquire the title, not report it to a credit agency...she calmed down and let the 'client' know and 'POOF', I now have a nice title to a Feather Duster Hull...

Time to start welding and get it into a rolling state, work on the drive train and floorpan mods, then get it to a bodyshop...Weee.... :D

What options are on your feather duster? I have one as well. Glad to hear
theres a few of them left!

Here's a overview- Ours is similar to a b5 blue, white stripes,225/od hurst
in the floor. Manual steering, manual brakes, Pretty bare. We've seen it
get better than 32mpg on the highway. Good luck with yours! Ours is in need of some help(lil' rusty) ..but in time my friend  :D

Post subject:  Welll...

THis one is...odd... and I'm not sure what to do with it at the moment...

It was sent to a wrecking yard, then Brett got it off e-bay...I think Brett still has the data plate as it's missing from the fender, I bought the hull and the passenger side cat carcass for a custom build up. As it sits, it was a disc brake A-833OD optioned car, with Brown exterior white stripe treatment, black interior, and factory sunroof (only a few trim peices and a seat remain...). Since a Feather Duster with a sunroof is pretty much unheard of, but I haven't found a place that has a complete setup and trim for it (I'll bet the price will outstrip the car)...I have parts from my '74 to complete this car and cap the roof to turn it back into a hardtop...

Until I get some $$$ in the bank to put toward the project it will sit (and probably with some patience and this waiting time a reasonably priced factory '74-76 sunroof setup will show up at a swap meet...)

Besides, I'm still waiting on my pistons to be dished, and the fuel injected hyperpak manifold to come back from the machine shop...

Due to some nice joint pain the doctors can't figure out, I've been lacking on the scene. I also had a set of NGK extended electrode BL plugs I tried out (hint here is you really have to think outside the box to get them...), after 150 miles of use in the Hpak duster, they went in the garbage can, to use them I had to yard my timing back from 50 at highway cruise to 40 to make them less 'ping worthy' (which also shot my mileage and 'passing speed')... so I won't post any stock numbers, no one should use these %^&* plugs. (Maybe someone should ask for a set of printouts from an Eddy Dyno showing power/output variations on 'stock plugs' vs. 'ZFR5N' style plugs. Instead of waiting for a hole to develop in their pistons.)

I thought for Doc and Lou's benefit that they might want to know, I will still be finishing my long rod EFI Hpak as my body and career allow. Today Fed Ex delivered my manifold from Aaron over at intakeelbows.com (he charges a very fair price, and does good work compared to the guys in my area).

See you on the Dark Side of the Moon,

Snazzy looking DI - you will LOVE efi being able to tweak everything with some keystrokes vs tearing carbs/distributors apart.

Wanna trade manifolds? :)

Best of luck to you with the body aches.

Awhile back I acquired a complete factory metal sunroof for a Duster/Dart Sport for possible use in an early A Body (I saw a 65 Dart up in Canada that had a metal sunroof conversion done and it looked like it belonged there. Might not use it, but will give you first shot if I decide to get rid of it.

Post subject:  Lol...

Already have one complete sunroof + mechanism, and one complete mechanism for it just in case... Thanks for the offer though. (I found a Dart Sport recently that gave up a complete set of seats and trim for this car too, so I don't have much left to complete the project other than a large sum of $$$ to restore the body correctly).

Good one Pierre...

DI thanks for posting the pics of your fuel system. Looks like it's gonna be a great setup. Good to see you posting again too. You really add a lot to this board. :D

Post subject:  It's home...

After some house cleaning today, the FDX hull is sitting in 'the shed'...

I have to look it over a bit more, since the floor pans have some nice rust holes in them... Also the 5mph bumper tips definate-ly have to go too...

This will get more attention later, priorities are 'upgrade' BV with a Holley 2305... fix the hpak duster's suspension... then tear down and gut the FDX hull and get parts lined up so she can get her body work done a bit more 'easily'...
