Nice job Charrlie!

Tom
Thanks, I have never done anything like this before, and since I have been pushing for a race closer to Florida, I thought I should try and make this work. I can use all the help/suggestions I can get. Would like to get some more awards/purse, if possible.

Way to go Charlie! I'll be sure to spread the word.

Would I look stupid running a bone stock Duster down the track. I've always wanted to be in a real (legal) drag race.

Jeb,

That's where just about all of us started! Consistency wins bracket races, not speed!

The last Mopar Southern Nationals Slant 6 race at Reynolds was won by a bone stock Duster running 20 second quarter miles. It came down to Matt and Charrlie in the final and Charrlie broke out to give Matt the win.

Definitely bring your Duster to the race!

Great job Charrlie!

So the slower Slant 6 cars should enter the Pro class? I was looking at that breakout and many of the cars that might show up will be slower than the Pro cut-off and likely on Street tires. Just so that the promoter knows that, so there aren't any problems at the gate for guys showing up.

I'm trying to get clarification on when the high school graduation is for the GodsRods kids. If I can't make the race I'll get the purse money to you in the mail.

I've contacted a couple people about helping with a purse, but haven't gotten any takers yet. I'll keep you posted.

Great, I'm already planning on being in the car show at that event so how do I go about getting into the race. Never done this before.

 Charlie, send me a mailing address, I'll kick a C-note into the kitty. Also I'll see if my club (Cowtown Mopars) will donate some T-shirts or caps into the mix. RICK

Just show up at the track, and tell them at the gate you want to race in the slant six shootout. You might want to come to the Fri test and tune, for practice.

Got a commitment from my local Advance Auto parts store, for a least one merchandise certificate, and a possible from Pep Boys, and Clifford Performance.

I'll try to get there early for the test and tune so you guys can give me a few pointers on how to race. I am going to drive my for over 4 hours nonstop (except for gas) so I don't know if anything is going to break on it. Has never been driven that far.

So I can be in both the show and the drag race, cool.

I just found out that high school graduation is on the 26th! So I may actually be able to make the race!

We won't be able to make it to test & tune (the story of my life), but we may be able to remove a few cobwebs from the GodsRods Duster and tow it down there for a pass or two.

Jeb, 4 hours to go less than 100 miles??!! Better tune that thing up before you go!
I-75 south, get off on exit 32, east 1 mile to Cecil GA (no relation :? ), north 1 mile on US 41.

Charlie, thanks for all the leg work you did to make this work.

For all those with faster cars that like smooth tracks, this track is all concrete and has been laser ground. It's all new and been open only a little over a year.

I'll toss a $100 into the pot. It would cost me more than that in gas to travel to the next closest Slant Six Race!

.
Just spoke to Glen Hickman (promotor), cars slower then 13.99 should enter the "street" class. Will be a free slant six shootout, entry, also.

There is an update on the mopar southern Nationals website, about the slant six shootout, with a $500 to win. Plus the money and merchandise, others are contributing.

Thanks folks.

I've got to pick up my girlfriend in Byron so that adds some time also. I live a long way from Valdosta. I plan on hitting the interstate in Macon and cruising down there.

Hey, I graduate high school on the 26th too! That is totally awesome.

Hey Ron go check out the picture of my car in the Slixers Gallery so you will know to look for.

4 hours, 3 hours, 2 hours, I suck at estimating time.

What the hell. I'll get there when I get there.
