My late 82 D150 longbed, 225, 833OD, 3:55 rear, single barrel carb, 235-70-15 tires, electronic ignition from a Volare (junked the lean burn) would run 20-21 on the highway (65 mph) and 16-17 around town. Good Luck Todd |

My 1982 D-150 (longbed) with leanburn, 225 slant six, Holley 1945, TF727, and 3.25 gears out back gets about 10 MPG on the highway. In the city it gets about 8 MPG. This is why I don't drive it much. But it is very responsive and tops out at about 90. I run 50 with it most of the time to save gas. |

I finally got around to checking my mileage this weekend. I calculated 18 MPG. My first thought was that there must be something wrong with the odometer. |

I scored a decent BBD at the boneyard last week. I am running my first tank of gas since the swap to the BBD and it appears that I am getting over 10 MPG. I am still calculating mileage so I can't say for sure what it is, but it is way better than it used to be. |

My '87 D150 w/ 225/904, Offy intake and Holley 4 bbl gets 14-15 mpg, forwards, backwards, uphill, downhill, and a heavy foot. I haven't taken it on an extended highway run yet, but with my foot and keeping up with traffic, those numbers would probably drop. ![]() -S/6 |
