I don't think so. I mistakenly bought a big bolt pattern 7 1/4" axle out of a '73-'76 A-body, under the impression that all big bolt pattern axles were 8 1/4". So I tried to salveage something of it by making for less work and swapping the axle shafts instead of the whole axle. They didn't fit in my '66 housing - the shafts were larger and had more splines.

I do not know if the '73-'76 small bolt pattern housing will work - it might.
