I think you assumed I was discussing SBP for my A-body when I said I was looking for stock wheels. I'm looking for stock BBP wheels for my Coronet 500. Those are the wheels I've thrown away by the dozens, and now I need some.

the stock wheels are 4.5 or 5.5 in the 14" version-- I'm currently going to have someone swap centers from a 6"/7" ford or gm wheel & adapt it to my sbp mopar-- I'm wanting a deeper offset for looks (and wider tire)-- nothing else----- to add some dog dishes to & see if I like it better than the slots I have--- they have some options in the aftermarket-- but factory did not offer much for the "A" body crowd

Strange assumption indeed, given that I started the thread about SBP wheels and extended it by asking more about them, then asked about SBP wheels! :wink:

Now I'll ask again. If anybody has any further tips on getting hold of some 14" SBP wheels I'm all ears. I'm gradually piecing together the years and models of cars that might have them, but it's slow going.

The reason I need a whole list of them is that the most likely source is 90 miles away, they have no idea what they have and I need to be prepared to check all possibilities.

Wouldn't it just be easier to measure the wheels???????

14" wheel would be about 15" at the flange.

As for the bolt pattern, just measure between 2 lugs on your existing wheel and you'll know what to look for. (beware of the 5 x 100mm bolt pattern as that will end up slightly smaller than the 5x4 between 2 lugs)

I'm looking for some 14" SBP wheels. (Locally, if you use the word Mopar they may run get their shotgun or call the whitecoats from Moccasin Bend. {But I HAVE already checked.}) So the most likely source is "Pull-A-Part" in Atlanta, 90 miles away or in Nashville 150 miles away. Pull-A-Part has no clue what parts they have, only an index of cars - which people are cannibalizing all day every day.

They have no warehouses. The staff are merely office people there to tell you what cars are in which slots in the yard. They probably know less about the actual wheels than I do and that's saying some. I simply can't drive those distances not having any idea what cars, out of a _huge_ yard, to look on for 14" SBP wheels.

So I'm trying to make a list of which would be the right cars to watch for on their web site or look on when I get there. Without that list I'm nowhere at all. They'll be rare enough WITH a list.

The fact that I'd prefer 5.5" wide wheels over 4.5" wheels is a complication too. I suspect most cars of this ilk came with 4.5" wheels.

Darts, Barracudas and Valiants, up to 1972.

If you're looking for small bolt pattern, you either take what you can get or shell out $$$ for what you want. There are several 5.5" wide, sbp wheel options on www.car-part.com. I'd start there, or switch to the big bolt pattern and solve all your problems at once.

I'm not finding either of those options working right now. Money is scarce; It takes days to get a reply from the nearest Mopar yard. (they don't allow "drive-ins") and I can get nothing at all from the second and third nearest (as a matter of policy).

Car-Part says absolutely nothing about bolt patterns, So there, as any place, you have to know exactly what you are looking for, where and why. And it would appear that some of the Barracuda /6's even had 13" wheels - according to the '65 manual.

All problems accept finding any of this stuff deep in enemy territory. :)

In the saddles of GM cars! :!: At least here at one of the last battions to start turning (Battles of Chicamauga and Chattanooga). :wink: (Remember the story of the capture of the General (steam locomotive)? It was taken to Choo Choo town. And believe it or not,one way or another the "rebels" battled until they actually got the General BACK not so many years ago!)

It would be a lot simpler if I had a big Mopar yard across the street or even across the county. As it is, I'm plugging away and/or marking time.
