ah yours came out looking better than mine! My first welding attempt, well its a little jagged on the edges.

Luckily I had a friend weld on the tabs, which look better than factory!

As you can see, I had to introduce myself to my little friend the grinder.

In the words of Dirty Harry, "A man's got to know his limitations."

After I cut and shaped the plates, I got a guy at work do the welding for me!

I wish I had put some sway bar tabs on at the same time, for when I get a sway bar.

64'4$peed, I hope you have a productive weekend! My rebuild took a long time but the car drives a lot better now.

I'm not reinforcing the LCA's, I talked to Dennis at firm feel and decided it wasn't necaccary. I got the bushings pressed in at work. painted the lca's and torqued the struts in. not even 10a.m. and I got some crucial work done. just need to clean the backing plates. LCA's go in today for sure.

LCA's are in. Spindles, backing plates, shocks. All torqued to spec. Ran into problems getting the torsion bars in. seems like the hex ends don't line up. anyone got any suggestions to get allignment close? other then that all is well and it looks awesome. all painted black.

doc had an interesting article on his alignment a while back (basically he had to show the kid how to do it)
Find an independant shop --with an old timer -- tell him what you've done--- it will take more time for this 1st set-up-- just nicer for the tech to know

Finished up today     :D :D :D
drove around the block. the front end is a bit lower. it looks awesome. ride is smooth and quieter. 16: 1 is gonna be fun. It'll probably add an 1/8 of an inch to my biceps in a couple weeks. I sure am glad I got most the work done friday cause today is a scorcher  90+ degrees in SF. that is hot for around here. were not prepared for this heat. thanks for all the helpful tips.

Took the Valiant out for along drive on the freeway. I gota say it was awesome. handles so good. effortless, as opposed to the white knuckle fear of before. unresposive steering, all over the lane. not anymore. I am so happy.
