Yeah, all valve lash settings will close when the engine warms up...including the factory type 010" intake spec.
No, since factory lash is HOT... so it would be loose when cold,
We're saying the same thing but in opposite ways. An adjustment made cold, tightens up when it heats up. An adjustment made hot, loosens up when it cools down.

ran it 20 minutes @ 2000 rpm and given lash of .022 wich as you say with engine hot and running was .020... then I took it for a ride and adjusted ex .45 mm intake .40 mm on the loose side. Tested another setting first with .40mm and .30mm in ex
Whah! You're mixing thousandths of inches, with millimetres!

I preferred to do it that way since I've had troubles with my conversion math in the past

Hey Cstryker, did you hook a vac gage? I'm getting steady 18-19 idling @ 800 rpm and around 15 when sitting on a red light brakes on and trans in D. Even given the "low" vac readings, it has plenty of guts before the advertised peak torque... the torque band feels way more stable than the original cam or the MP244 or others I've tried. Stall is stock and gearing is 3.07
The effect I'm seeing in my buddy's car is that when you go off-line with medium-light acceleration, instead of dropping a lot and then as it revs up going up, the vacuum stays kinda in the sme place... and going up.
Yeah, I have been checking it w/ a gauge. Right now I'm getting ~ 15 in/hg idling at 800 with lash set at .020. I don't have an in dash vac. gauge (yet), so beyond that I'm not sure what it does. I was talking to the tech guy @ Erson, and he runs the same cam in his wife's street/strip car. He says he gets right at 11" but seeing the results you and I have gotten, that makes me wonder a little bit.

Personally, I don't feel this has any more low end than the cam I replaced, which was the stock '82 hydraulic. I do /really/ feel it kick in right around 1700 rpm. I think part of that is a carbureator problem though, which I will be posting more about in the next couple days.
