thanks to you both, a salvage yard about 75 mls. away had both L & R 10" drum spindles for $40 ea. plus $25 to ship-
I elected to go for the shipping, as a 150 ml round trip would burn close to $25 in gas.

So, I've decided to go for the SSBC kit ($995 non-pwr discs)

Get the hub dimension and compare to your wheel opening before buying....it's not in the SSBC specs.

Additional Consideration for a conversion kit is looking longterm.....what happens at rebuild/replacement time??? Will the normally wearing parts be readlly accessible & at a reasonable leadtime & rate compared to normal availability, leadtime, & replacement cost? Companies seem to come & go out of the clear blue.

The SSBC $995 standard base kit appears to have a unique one piece hub & large 11.25 inch rotor assy that is drilled for both bolt patterns. Studs look to be pressed into the pattern of holes that you desire.

How much is a single source SSBC replacement rotor versus a $30 adapted new volume selling rotor available from many parthouses? Or the unique SSBC "squashed" caliper (because of the 11.25 inch rotor) versus a typical $20 adapted rebuilt volume selling caliper supplied from a NAPA or similiar outift?

If you feel it's an important consideration you could always buy the SSBC replacement components now to insure for the first replacement but thats raising the cost of using a SSBC conversion.

Yes, I had many of those same concerns-
Both the pads and calipers are Ford Mustang parts,
the replacement rotors are 'SSBC custom rotors' available for $63 each-
SSBC has been around for 30 yrs., but you make a valid point when it comes to 'custom parts, their future availability and lead time'...
(I'll probably order a spare set of rotors and stow them)

Yes, a bit pricey compared to more common stock parts...
But worth it to me, if for no other reason than this Disc Conversion project has been driving me batty-
the sooner I get the brakes done, the sooner I finally get the car on the road!
