Actually the bolt pattern did not change, only the size of the hole in the end of the crank, and the part of the flange that centers the flywheel/flexplate.

The crank hub changed size in 1968, along with the input shaft for the 904 trans. DD |

Mike, I have done several kinds of swapping deals like you are proposing to do. My experience with those swaps leads me to suggest that you are asking some interrelated answer questions. For example, you are asking about the speedo gear, yet the gear and correct readings on you speedo are intimately related to tire size. Several posts on this forum have a link to the tire diameter vs. rpm spreadsheet and I think one is at the mopar forum. YOu also need a table of gear ratios for the various trannies and I think this is at Allparts. Knowing your gears from 1 - 4, you enter in the gears and the tire height and the spreadsheet tells you what number of teeth you need on the speedo gear. Then it is just a matter of tracking one down. I got a collection over the years from ebay, from Moparts P+S, and so on. You are asking about kickdowns, but you can use a cable kickdown quite easily. I like making brackets for my modifications, and the ones for a carb. are very easy. I used a Hurst Promatic 2 with a cable shift and a cable kickdown, with a rod accelerator linkage. To see what the idea is look at a sequence of pics on Bouchillon Performance Engineering web page. While not endorsing them I believe the nice large clear pics will help you see possibilities. You can buy carb. adapters from many places if you don't want to make them. Look in the recent Jeg's catalog, for instance. This is the fun part for me...matching and making parts.. rock '64d100 |
