Quote: I have not been able to locate a rebuild kit. Don't see it in Year One or any of the other resto places and the local dealership gave me a part number and said it was discontinued.
I just bought one yesterday from my local Dodge dealer (they even had it in stock). I think the part number was 4443436AC. I haven't installed it yet, so I can't guarentee it is the right one.

Quote: I've taken apart and fixed several Mopar steering couplers, and more often than not I've found that some the sliders inside were completely broken. The factory seal is a real bear to get on right, but there is a nice aftermarket boot I've seen that I'd certainly get before I'd fight with the factory one again.
Do you have a source for this aftermarket boot?

Post subject: | I got mine on Ebay. |
here is a link for a current one. To find them type in Mopar Steering Coupler http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Steering ... enameZWD1V Also this is interesting http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOPAR-ST ... enameZWD1V The silver pin is a PITA to get out I finally cut both ends off and ground out the middle. I'm sure lots of penetrating oil will help. I know the next time I will check the play on this and if its the same on the shoes I'll lube up the new gasket and slide it over the existing pin. That reminds me. Remember to put the clip and the the gasket on the steering shaft before putting in the new pin and shoes. ![]() |
