What I don't understand is why anyone would want to build a slant 6.

I don't understand why someone would want to own a Chevy Nova, much less two of them.

you obviously have time to ask questions on line about things that a simple phone call could answer, and you have time to wright out a flaming post when all people are trying to do is help. how is it you don't have time to shop on line? UNDERSTAND!
i agree... i'm just a girl so u know i may not know much but with four days of posting was way more than the five to ten minutes and could have been done simultaneously while awaiting posts new tab... just a bit of humor. i know i'm glad i spent time surfing because i'd never have found this site and it has been truly educational. definitely aided in my finding a rear end that i ultimately didn't need but also helped me get to the root of my car's illness. hope all works out with your new brake system :)

I'm just asking, thinking that someone who has bought all the brake parts would post, to give me a ballpark figure. I don't have the time to go shopping online. I know where I'm going to buy it at. I just would like to know how much it could cost, so I can expect the prices.
If you know where you are going to buy the parts, they can give you the most accurate price. A "ball park" figure from anyone here, will not mean anything. The brand of the parts can make a huge difference, and the same brand from different supplies, can also be quite different.

Just a little hint.....(mebbe a big hint)....if you come here with an attitude like yours you will not get what it is you think you want...

......by the way,,,,I dont have time to look up prices for you on Rock Auto...UNDERSTAND?

Try asking your supplier for a quote......

Its pretty sad to come on here and post a question and people take the time to TRY to HELP you and you don't even appreciate it. Instead you throw a tantrum because you didn't get someone to make the phone call to the store you were going to buy everything from anyways. One thing I do know is I knew squat about my car before I came on this forum and since then EVERYONE has been extremely helpful and patient even with my repetitive questions and I appreciate them all. This forum isn't for someone that's lazy and for someone on here to do your work for you. Its for exchanging opinions, ideas, insight, inturn helping each other. If you can't grasp that then I don't see any forum being any help to you.

I think everyone is missing what I was trying to say.
Oh, I disagree. We all understood you just fine. Understand?
Quote:
I wanted a rough estimate of how much it would cost to buy new brake parts. Understand?
You got every bit of the help you needed, unless you expected someone to come over to your house and click your mouse for you. Understand?

I wanted this so that I would have an idea before I went to the store and bought the parts. Understand?
You're too lazy to click your own mouse or dial your own phone, and yet you're planning to do the brakes on your car? Please let me know where you live so that I can avoid roadways in your area. Understand?
Quote:
I did NOT want a link to an online shopping store. I did NOT want to be told what kind of parts to get. I did NOT want to be told to call different places for estimates. Understand?
You're not only lazy, you're spoiled and badly behaved. Understand?

ALL I wanted was an estimate on how much it could cost. Understand?
Mick Jagger once sang "You cain't always git what you wa-aant, but if you try sometimes, y'just might find...baby, y'git whatchya NEE-EED!". Wise words. Heed them. Understand?

Grand. Bye, now! Understand?

I am buying the parts, and I don't care anymore.
Congratulations. Good for you. You've done what you should've done in the first place before we wasted our time helping an ungrateful jerk like yourself. Understand?

Then you shouldn't be here. This is a slant-6 board. Understand?

Yes, you are. Very good for recognising that. Run along, now. Understand?

Sorry for that shot at the slant 6. It is a good motor. I was a bit stressed at the time. And also the "understand" incident. Sorry. I know this is a good site, and everyone is just trying to help. That being said, there was no reason to blow up on everyone like that. I'm sorry.
I should have been clear on my first post, but I wasn't, you tried to help, and I got angry. Sorry for all that.

Now, I deserved the comments I recieved. Except this one:

You're not only lazy, you're spoiled and badly behaved. Understand?
Why did I get that comment? If I was lazy, why would I have 3 projects I'm working on.
I'm not spoiled, I do everything myself, and I'm sorry I have to live paycheck to paycheck and only work on the Dart when I have some spare money. That's why I wanted a quick response from you guys, so I would know if I had enough to at least get started. I was only upset because I asked what I thought to be a simple question, and I guess it wasn't.

Once again, I am sorry for what I said to everyone, and thank you for trying to help.

Let me also add that I wasn't asking for you to look up prices for me, I was asking for an estimate based on previous experience. Maybe this should have been part of the first post. :D

If you haven't noticed, I've gone from questioning :?: , to angry :x , to sorry  , to finding this whole thing funny.

Not sure if I used the right emoticons for that. :D

I just had to use this one. :tsk: Ha Ha.

Why did I get that comment?
'Cause you deserved it. You exhibited all three characteristics. Let's review:

•Laziness. You were not willing to pick up the phone or click your mouse for five minutes to discover the price range of the brake parts you need in your area. You wanted others to do it for you.

•Spoiled. You didn't get what you thought you wanted, so you threw a temper tantrum.

•Badly behaved. Others took the time and made the effort to provide you with a great deal of quality information and help, and you threw it right back in our faces, very rudely.

QED.

I am sure you will have better results in future on the board once you establish a better behavioural track record. Your apology here is a good start.

Laziness: I think I explained this in this post.

Spoiled: Ok, your points are valid, but I don't like the term spoiled, or temper tantrum. But still valid.

Badly behaved: Yes, I was. I'm usually pretty cool.

QED: Not sure what that means.
