I started out with one of andyf (arengineering) kits - he isn't making them anymore, I snagged one from parts forum here. I beefed the brackets up a bit because the brackets shook a little. They were meant for the smaller gm alternators not the cs144 monstrosity.

I think theres still a pic on his website. I'll get some pix in a few days.

Just got back from Peoria Electric.

New bearings, brushes, Turned the contact surfaces. Made 50 Amps on his machine.

$33.50

It's super quiet now.

Jim pointed out that sometimes the pulley doesn't want to come off of the shaft. No problem with mine, so not an issue.

I asked him about cleaning the alternator in my tank. He said Stoddard Solvent wouldn't hurt it.

Oops! I keep thinking I can see without my glasses. It's either optimism or just delusional thinking. When I try to read in the morning without my glasses, and I am in hurry to get off to work, then we are all really in trouble.

Hello all for all mopar alternators 110amp rotor and stater kit, available at any alternator shop. Get a smaller pulley also, as it needs to spin up higher to produce the amps for night time driving @ idle. dodgegirl runs 3 of these in radio competition for many years without fail. Hope this helps Don

Do they even make smaller pulleys for the stock alternators?

Smallest one made is 2½". Those "high amp conversion kits" greatly aggravate the poor low-RPM charging problem, and cause other problems as well.
