But....my adv intake closing is 71

Adv ex dur is 270

Lobe sep is 109....ground 2 deg advanced

Intake opens 29 btdc closes 71 deg
exhaust opens 62 atdc closes 28 deg

overlap 57 advanced 2deg

Bore is 3.466

Total cc is 71 ( I think...)

Here is the final result, based on what you posted. I zeroed out the amount you are in the hole, as well as the gasket thickness.

Regardless, the calculations are looking a lot different from what you posted from the web based calculator gizmo.


The reason that I am so interested in this is because it appears there is a lot of differences in how this can be calculated. I researched this a lot during the Bren/Eileen timeframe, to better figure out what was real in planning my own engine build.

Using those same #s on the web based calc I got DCR of 7.84.....

I still think I need to take out about 5-6cc to end up at 10:1 CR and a DCR around 7.75

Im tempted to go to a 62cc /10.5 DCR 8 setup

Highway time provides room for thought....

I think Lou is suggesting advancing the cam about 6 degrees so the intake closes sooner. This would increase DCR without milling.

Time to run some more numbers......
