9-bolt cover = 7¼" rear axle.

205/60R15 tires = 817 revs per mile, which is two more revs than I figured in my previous calculations, which is about two-tenths of one percent, totally trivial, therefore previous math holds.

Noisy: Could be a bunch of different things, from faulty engine or transmission mounts to exhaust routing issues to, yes, telegraphed noise and vibration from your rear axle. Was the accelerator floored with no more travel? Or there was more travel but the car wouldn't go any faster even if you stepped down further? It will still be very helpful to know the speed range you most frequently drive.

No. Also i think i might see where you are going with this. Wheel bearings? I found a guy that has a 7.25" rear, So i am going to cannibalize what i need out of that. He also said he has a hub.. I will keep you guys informed with the progresss that i am making. I want to get the bearings on the pinion, carrier as well as the outer axle bearings changed, Put it all back together and see if that fixes it. Thank you so much, your knowledge is pricless. Again i will keep you informed.

He wasn't going for wheel bearings, he was going for engine mounts and exhaust routing.

What ratio is the 7¼" rear axle you found?

And, um, again: What speeds do you normally drive?

Save yourself some work and swap in the complete rear end assembly.

The trick to setting-up rear end gears is shimming and setting the bearing preloads and backlash. When you change gears from one housing to another, you have to do that fussy setting process all over again.
