if u can't fit an air2air intercooler in the front bumper, u could look into an air2water intercooler. for a water pump, u can either use a pump such as a ford lightning/cobra pump, or a bilge pump like some have been doing lately. u can even use an ac condensor for the heat exchanger so its thin in the bumper. hardest part of the a2w is finding the intercooler itself. there are not decent cheap production a2w units. however some people doing a budget build have encased a smaller a2a unit and run water thru it. only other part is a water reservoir. basically a container of water. ive even seen some cars use an icechest in the trunk, and others use a small standalone fuel cell for underhood. its more complicated, but if setup right can work better.

I didn't have much trouble fitting an air-to-air in my '66. I may, however, have a small problem getting the grille back on over it. :)
