http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?item ... 347&KICKER Eastwood products have been proven better and easier to use then the POR 15 system. give them a look. 1968 Dart GT resto the owner uses only Eastwood rust prevention products and sprays them on and they even look good to. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/sho ... hp?t=15357 |

I'd be interested to see whatever trial or experiment was done to prove this, since most of Eastwood's stuff is name-brand stuff, rebranded under the Eastwood label, marked up, and made easy to order through the Eastwood catalogue. Very little of Eastwood's product line is actually innovative or proprietary. I don't mean to disparage Eastwood; their product line includes good stuff, and they have a good customer-service track record. But most of their added value is in convenience — giving customers easy access to small quantities of supplies otherwise normally available only in larger, commercial/industrial quantities.

Don't know about all of Eastwoods products, but there was a comparison test in Auto Restorer of POR15s rust bonding paint (the black stuff) vs Eastwoods equivalent. The Eastwood paint did slightly better in the destruction tests........ The tests did seem to be valid, and pictures were included. I think the difference was at the edges, the POR15 had more of a tendency to peel where the coverage ended. (test was awhile back, so I don't have my hands on it at the moment) |

I can believe it. There are other brands of coating conceptually similar to POR15; often the ones we're familiar with are the ones most aggressively marketed/advertised. |
