I've run 0.040" with points + the long-tip rotor. As long as you're using a quality set of points (Echlin CS-851 non-pierced being my first choice, Standard BlueStreak CH-14XV my second) you should get acceptable lifespan out of them. |

I think were getting thinks mixed up here. Are we talking about what plug gaps should be with points or elec. ignig? I'm talking about elec. ignig gaps! Like I said earlier, you can gap up to .050 on the plugs if your ignig system is up to snuff. My vehicles aren't daily drivers so I fell I can get away with a gap that big. And Im running Pertronix on both a 383 and a / for over 10 years now with no problems on either. |
