Doc, What does this service cost? or do you have instructions. Does this reduce load on the drive gear? Do you replace the drive gear? with one of your special hardened gears? What pressure do you set it for? I had read your note years ago on the Slant Sixness write up as a must do. Thanks, |

Yes on all of the above. Do you replace the drive gear? with one of your special hardened gears? What pressure do you set it for? I had read your note years ago on the Slant Sixness write up as a must do. I set the oil pressure for 50-55 psi. I do oil pump 'blueprinting' for $80-100.00 depending on the type of pump and the work I do to it. All of the oil pumps I rework get the case hardened drive gear. In my mind, anything you can do to prevent a shredded oil pump drive gear is a "must do". DD (Sorry for thr thread "hi-jack") |

Doc, So do you prefer that we send you a pump, or do you prefer your own brand? |

Send me a pump unless you want a reworked 5/8 thick impeller, factory die-cast aluminum pump, I have lot's of those. DD |

What is the total price then with your fee plus one of your factory 5/8" pumps? Sounds like a good investment, even for a daily driver! Thanks, |

It's the dreaded thread pirates! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And now for a shameless meaningless testimonial: I run one of Doug's blueprinted pumps on my junk. It's lasted through 2 piston failures without being touched. ![]() Oh yeah, the 4bbl intake looks kinda cool too. ![]() |

If this new intake is three inches shorter than the hyper pak, how long would that make it? In other words how long was the hyper pak? Thanks! |

The H-Pak has a runner length between 15 & 18 inches. (middle vs end runners) Call it 16 1/2 inches average length. Dyno testing during development showed that max HP was found at a shorter length, around 13 1/2 average but this testing was on a 170 engine. The longer runner length was selected to help with mid range torque and power so the smaller 170 powered H-Pak NASCAR racers could come-off the corners better on the Daytona track they were running. Last time I checked $465 bucks Aussie = $420 some odd bucks US. $100 Aussie Air Mail = about $90 dollars US. Maybe we could do an Euro group buy! ![]() |

I just read the new manifold has a divided plenum. Will the carb be mounted in the regular way or will the primaries face the engine? Will you guys (Pentastar Parts/Aussie Speed) be offering a linkage package? |

DD The Mid range torque on the hyperpack is unbelievable - they are great for passing on the freeway! - The coming off the turns nascar stuff makes sens after you have driven one of these a bit.
