What advantages are there to these 1.6 Rockers??

Probably went through a bucket of stockers with a calipers and picked out the ones that were closer to the 1.6:1 side of the tolerances. I've heard stock rockers are all over the place when it comes to the ratio.

Jess, Well Thanks for the kind words - Yes My build is very much a stock bottom End Just like many other folks on here!

I just used cast stock .030" over replacement pistons with some valve reliefs cut into them.

If and When I do another motor I would go with much Bigger Valves similar to what Lou uses and Maybe an angle mill on the head. Even Some of the real quick boosted cars still use a stock bottom end.


Sorry I didn't read your post thoroughly - here is the link to the dyno pull. it has the A/F graph at the bottom - it goes down from around 14:1 to about 10:1 I am guessing that's lean as well.

I have used fatter jets in the carb at the track and it gave me no help in et's so I went back to the setup you see on the dyno page.

That gragh shows very close to the results I am seeing. In the md RPM the A/F cant hold a flat line. My guess is the engines are not pulling on the booster good enough to have a strong booster signal ( carbs to big). I am thinking that a Annular booster setup will cure this. I bet if you had a A/F guage when you shifted gears you will see the A/F go lean. Not as bad as me because you run more gear so the RPMs want drop as far.


Where I am running 3.23 gears the RPM drops a lot, and with the auto tranny it makes it drop even farther. Yours with the lower gears and a stick may not drop RPM far enough to cause a problem and it keeps the engine within the RPM range where the A/F has a flat line.


BTW, that graph is showing you to be to rich. You need to be around 12.5 to 12.8 to find best power, any leaner will put you into spark knock, and richer like you are will just simply loose power. ABout three jet sizes down lower should put you into the 12.5 range and gain as much as 15 to 20 horsepower (could even be more). Timing will effect the power more when you reach the right A/F ratio also. May take more, may take less timing. If you dont have a A/F guage you could lean it down untill it starts loosing power, then step it back up a bit from that piont until it gains the MPH back.. After a better A/F is reach then test with timing. Ofcourse when you start tuning this close plug readings become very important to really know where you are on the tune.
