This scam is a classic example! The clues are apparent. First of all, why is his communication with his secretary so poor? Isn't she working in the next room?? If his secretary actually sent $2000 without his knowledge, he ought to have her arrested! Chances are 90% that he doesn't even need the parts as the scam is really for cash.

We all have to be very careful of shady deals like this. Always accept only the amount you are asking in legal tender (MO's can be stolen), and ALWAYS wait until the payment clears before sending the items.

Look for statements like "...my people will pick up the item." Or my favorite "...Greetings! I am Rev. Oba Bopson from Nigeria." Or "...is your item still for sale?" They like to use the word "item" so they don't have to be specific (they often don't even know or care what you are selling).

I get emails like this about every other day. Be aware!

I thought about contacting you about the truck when I was in Tucson for Christmas.

I do still have the truck and have decided to fix it up for my father-in-law to drive. All of the other Mopars and parts are gone. I still need to get rid of the Mustang II and Vega Wagon. We've decided not to use the Volare K member for the truck. We're going to put it on a Dakota frame instead!

I am still serving here in Germany. Just another 28 months and 9 days to go...
