Hey Rick!

Im hoping to go.....I got the short block into my warm workshop yesterday....the head is in the sheen shop...found a cheap hipo clutch disc.

My issures are: may have a job in SanFran March 8(cant go that far that often)

We have a huge job on the go (same size as a whole slow year) to be deliverd may 15.....not sure I can get away.

Ill prolly stay at the track(just used to it I guess) but would love occasional shower privlidges etc.

I hope you meet a woman like mine (shes away snowboarding with her GFs for a few days) She is the force behind me going to MATS.

I spoke with Dennis on Sat....he cant get holiday time......so Steph and Karen....well Ill leave that to you.....or Chris

and Sandy and even Dennis could crash.
Yes, we have a room at the Super-8 right down the road from the speedway. (why don't they call these motals the "Super-6?? )

Showers and other room uses need to be negotiated 'face to face'...

Well Doc I actually know why these stupid motels got their name.
Motel 6 when it started actually cost 6.99 for a room.
A couple yrs. later or whenever after massive inflation, the Super 8
chain started at 8.99 per room which was competitive at the time.
It's hard to change your franchise name when prices go up.
What will the 99 cents stores be called in a few years when cheap
China goods are 4.99.
Isn't it great how much fantastic technical information we can get here
at .org?

My wife and I went to Mopars At The Strip again this year. We had a great time. Do these cars belong to anybody here?

I think the wagon is Doug's. The '62 belongs to Rick Valent from Tucson. :D

Allan Dutra raced the wagon.
The Blue Valiant is Jessica's car. Andrew (Kidd) raced it this trip. His car is still going together! :)

With teenage drivers, owning the car means that I get to pay the registration and fix it... so they can drive the thing!

Just be thankful doc you aren't having to insure them going to school with a numbers matching '70 Challenger 440 six pack car...

My parents had a nice idea when I was driving in high school, if something broke I had to help my grandfather fix it or else I wouldn't get to drive it...oddly enough, now I'm here on the board helping other people....of course I always had to take one of my parents to work so I could have the car... and had to wash it on Saturdays....

I had my own car in high school ($325 '67 Dart GT  ), but I would occasionally borrow my brother's truck. I was brought up that you take care of other people's things and always "leave it better than you found it". I always made sure I washed it and left him with a full tank of gas. Even if it was just a quick trip I borrowed it for.

It seems that those kinds of principles are more the rarity these days than the norm... :? Sorry to diverge and rant a little. Not sure why I did that...

Man, I'm homesick!
