Quote: ok no voltage @ the flasher
Check all the fuses with a meter or a tester with a light bulb. Visual inspection is not enough. Check for voltage on BOTH sides of the fuse if you are testing with the fuse installed. If they all look good, you will have to follow the wires back from the flasher to see where the trouble is. what should i do next? You might also try jumping power to the flasher just to see if that makes it work. |

Ok I'm gonna take it from the top... The original ignition switch had 5 wires comming from it. The 6th connection at top center of that switch was left blank. When the chineese start building repops of yesterdays parts they dont have a clue ! So they placed a 6th wire (black) on that prviously unused swtch terminal. When they got to the harness connecter and needed to place the additional wire they were either misinformed or simply took for granted this black wire went in the location 4th from the end. WRONG! The harness connecter has 2 orange wires there which are dash light wires. What should go to the other side is the single orange wire leading to the shift indicater lamp. what the installer should do is cut and dead end that added black wire comming from the new switch and attach that single orange wire where it is or was on the original connecter (4th from end). Now about your lack of turn signals and back up lights... You cant associate what is hot at all times with what is hot at swtch on. If your switch wiring is wrong you can still have such as brake lights since that circuit isn't relative to the ignition switch. Given you dont have working lamps relative to switch on I'd venture to say you dont have working wipers or heater blower either. Some wire is still in the wrong position. We cant expect the aftermarket to go back and correct this screw up or add any of this info to their install directions either. |
