Oil on that tranny can also come from the square corners of the engine oil pan...the corners that hold the rear main seal. Likewise, the rear main seal can leak and oil can also come from the rear of the valve cover down the back of the block. It is useful and resful to wipe the tranny clean, lie beside the vehicle and watch it idle a while to see where oil first appears.
