I still remember Jim himself trying to tell me that a new set of turbo headers I was returning (because they looked like junk) would seal fine if I used red silicone. About a month later one of their "factory" turbo cars pulled a DNF at a big buick event because of leaky headers. I'm glad saying no has never been a problem for me!
I was at Bowling Green one year when Bell was reading us a letter he'd written to Poston about "fake" parts and such, and telling us not to buy from him. I had been partaking of some recreational chemicals and decided I'd had enough of his BS. (I was still waiting for a set of "in stock" headers I'd ordered 4 months ago.) I started asking quite loudly where my freakin' pipes were. By the time I was done about 20 people were asking for their parts too. Bell ran into a porta potty and hid from us.

I got similar BS from another well known Texan in the turbo Buick world. Send in your part for some work and get a 2-3 day turnaround. 10 calls and 5 weeks later some piece of junk that was not mine and was unusable shows up. They had screwed it up experimenting on one of their cars and then sent it to me and kept mine. I got mine back but it was ugly. That good old hospitality can turn in a hurry!

It's like the old commercial "Where's the beef?'

Cox brothers used to have them listed in their catalog, I think they were a RAS set, I had inquired with T&D machine a while back since they do 'rollerized' roller rockers, but never heard back from them (I guess you have to have a big block to qualify... or 'sumthin')

Check the lift at the valve and see if the rocker ratio really is 1.6:1.

Well I picked up my head today, O so pretty. For all of you that have been following this posting, thank you for the in put. As soon as I figure out how to up load pics I will post the pics of Clifford's rocker arm assembly.
Here is a little description: They changed the adjuster nuts and made them bigger. The rockers themselfs are cast instead of stamped like the stock ones. They enlarged the oil pilot holes on the rockers as well. The spacers that go between each rocker is different too, they are more like a piston pin sleeve, if that makes ant since. If you would like, shoot me you email and I will send you the pics that way

Great! The original pictures they showed of them were of stamped steel arms. Maybe Clifford is actually changing their ways. :D

Well here is what I had done to the head of mt baby and cost:

Work was done at
Baker Cyclinder Heads
145 Gibson Road Suite B
Henderson NV 89014 1-800-564-1510

Clifford Rocker Arm 1.6:1 Ratio
Clifford over sized valve Kit ( don't remimber what Size)
Total cost at Clifford 556.00
Total Not per unit
Exh seats 6 at - 21.24
Liners 12 at 36.00
HO seals 12 at 36.00
oil galley plugs 5/8 2 at 8.00
Retainers 12 at 29.88

Clean 30.00
MAG 25.00
Valve job 160.00
replace Guides 6 at 60.00
Resurface 70.00
Street port 180.00
Mach. Guides 24.00

Grand total 775.28 + 560= 1445.28
Correct me If I am wrong but clifford sales a blue printed head for 1000.00 without the rocker arm set up. I think that I made the right choose on this one I spent about 100.00 but it is set up to mach the specs of my motor perfectly and If Carol Shellby sends his heads to baker I damn sure I can trust that the work is perfect. :D

I only come up with $680.12 for your itemized machine shop costs. $180 probably doesn't get you anything more than a bowl blend. 2-3 hours isn't much to put into porting.

I could duplicate or better the Clifford head for less than $700. I'd have to see one disassembled to know by how much though.

When I pick up my head from the machine shop I'll post a cost break down. My oversize valves were $64, springs and retainers were $60. The machine shop bill is supposed to be under $400. I'll post the itemized costs when I have them.

I recieved the pictures of the rocker arms. They are definatly not stock ones. They look like the non roller rockers crane made for the big and small blocks, or the stock Mopar 273 rockers (longer, of course)..
