I don't know if you want to post this in the slant six section over at FABO or not, but you may get some interest...

Okay, how about this idea? We get all the flywheels drilled for both patterns?
This keeps Wilcap's setup costs down to a minimum.

Greg O, will this work for you?

I'm In with the ford pattern.. I can forego the SFI approval I think the dual pattern is the way to go ...
I mean if we're fabbin up parts then I feel it's easy enough to get a flywheel made with 2 bolt circles on it.

:)

Since I haven't even BEGUN choosing a clutch, I really like this option, too. Great idea!

Greg, what's the timeframe on the purchase window here? It takes me a few days to roll all those pennies

Hi all,

Okay, final tally
  • Menko--Small crank register
    Lou--Big Crank register
Greg O.--?? need to know crank register
Jared, if he can get a strange, non standard one for an engine that I am not familiar with.-- Needs to be externally balanced.
Vynn.--?? need to know crank register
    Greg M.--Small crank register
Final desired design-- Standard, 122 tooth flywheel, made out of AL, drilled for both Mopar 9 inch clutch pattern and the Ford 10" clutch pattern, with the exception of Jared.

Greg O and Vynn, please PM me what type of crank you have, and your contact info, and email addresses, so we can do the rest of this over email.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi all,

I just talked to Wilcap.
  • Mopar 9 inch and Ford 10 inch pressure plate patterns are both a go. We will have the flywheels drilled for both. Greg and Lou, thanks for pushing me on this.

They have started the production cycle, based on me giving them a credit card number.

We should expect delivery in 3-4 week.
I need to get the register and contact info from Greg O and Vynn, and then we need to get money figured out.

Thanks for the help from everybody.

Post subject:  Here they are!

I have received the AL flywheel from Wilcap.

It weighs in at 10 pounds, and is drilled for both the Mopar 9 inch clutch, and the Ford 10 inch variety.

The look and feel of it is very high quality. I can't wait to go put it on the car, hopefully tonight.

Since it will likely be YEARS before I can do my T-5 swap, I'd be interested in hearing everybody's results/conclusions of using this flywheel. Thanks in advance!

That looks exactly like the one I am running on my '64 Dart that I got used (but only Mopar pattern). Must have been a Wilcap piece. It is probably 15 yrs old, and I've been running it in my Dart for about 4. Flawless so far.

Mine should get here next week.

Nice work and thanks again Greg M!!
