Stephanie, that sounds like a fun apartment! Thanks, WV! I'm pretty sure I'll be going with Dutra at this point. He seems to have a fine product and nobody has said anything negative about his product. That's all I need. I'm hearing a lot of great things about Holley carbs. I've only had the Carter on mine so far, and I have liked how easy it's been, but the difference between a 1 barrel and a 4 barrel are certainly night and day. Good luck on your build! Do you have any pics of your engine posted anywhere? Love to see it. |

Chuck, thank you for the interest in my build. I have two engines 72 and 73 Darts (225), one transmission core (auto), and a rear diff (chevro-something or other). Bought an Aussie Speed/PP&R long runner 4bbl intake, Dutras,340 springs and various hot rod odds and ends. I have been collecting parts for about 14 months trying to work on the drive train hoping that I will win the lottery or have an 27 Model T Ford roadster body and chasis fall from heaven. For all of my enthusiastic ramblings about hot rods, everything Mopar and pieces parts, my wife still puts up with my obsessive/compulsive conversations at breakfast and dinner! With two kids at home ,I know that this project maybe on the 10 to 12 year schedule! Talked to a local guy that has a killer jet black 41 Willys coupe (350 chev for power poor guy) and it took him all most 10 years to the day to complete. Okay so I feel somewhat better! No not ready for pics just yet but the forum keeps me going! |

That sounds awesome! Also sounds like you've got the same shopping list I have. Did you get the 340 springs off eBay? I'm looking to get those too someday. How did you score the Aussie? Those things are really rare around here. That will be a killer T-body hot rod! I've got to hand it to my long suffering wife as well. If I'm not yammering about my Valiant project, I'm yammering about building model cars. I'm eternally grateful that she tolerates all my madness. |

Chuck, I am very lucky to have Rick Allison, aandatrans.com(sorry no link) too tired, as a friend. He is one of the premier mopar transmission guys in the country. He fixed me up with my 340 springs-said just take em we will worry bout $ later! He is very interested in my slant obsesion even though he is a Hemi guy! If you do a search -PP&R-Aussiespeed intake release date and pics - it should pay off! |

Quote: Quote: They do learn that a mans garage/workshop is his sanctum eventually
Not if he has to share it with the woman's tools and car parts.. Granted, I live in an apartment, so a garage/shop space is a dream. But it'll be interesting living with two other slant 6ers in one apartment. Already we need to find more room to store extra parts, and right now there's only two of us! About a year ago I installed shelving with a storage area of ~ 20 square meters for my stuff.................HAH! being married I only have access to 25% of that now but it is OK - she is busy designing a killer workshop/old car garage for me - we live on a smallholding so space is not a problem - funds..... |

Hahahahahahahaha..........I'm single and have a huge shop to store junk in. Putting 2 more cars in it this weekend. More space can only mean you need more junk. |

I could be single, too. Dragging a couple of project cars home right now would probably do it.

Hey, who let Zilla post on this thread? Single! Thanks for rubbin' salt in the wound! Besides he has too much stuff the way it is - can't keep track of it all! Zilla what ya gonna do with that hyper-pak? Do ya have a lay away plan or any special financing? |

I am getting the Daytona home this weekend. After that I'll have to see what all needs to go. I have a buddy who wants to trade me 2 '76-'77 Cordobas for it. We are also dragging home a '64 Dart GT for a buddy of mine to make a bracket car out of. A lot of my stuff will be going into it. It was a factory 273/4 speed car. My 'Son of Slantzilla' motor will probably end up in it. |

Ha. Don't worry about it. I'm perfectly happy with the intake I bought. Thanks for pointing it out for the community.
